Producers of the show put so much time and effort to select filming locations that it impossible not to be dazzled. 10-) QARTH (LOKRUM-CROATIA)
It is the greatest city that ever was or will be as 12 suggested in Season 2 of Game of Thrones... In reality, it is an island in Croatia, just 15 minute boat ride away from Dubrovnik. All the beautiful garden and inside the castle scenes in Qarth were filmed in Lokrum Island of Croatia.
In addition to filming locations, you can also explore attractions like Mrtvo More (Dead Sea) in Lokrum.
9-) TOWER OF JOY (ZAFRA CASTLE, GUADALAJARA - SPAIN)
This very unique castle is one of the newest additions to Game of Thrones filming locations. We have seen this location in "Oathbreaker" episode of Season 6. In reality, it is 12th century fortress built on bed of rocks and located only 2 hours away from Madrid.
8-) WATER GARDENS OF DORNE ( ALCAZAR DE SEVILLA - SPAIN)
We have seen glimpse of a life at Dorne in second, fourth, fifth and sixth seasons. All water gardens of Dorne scenes were filmed in Alcazar de Sevilla in Spain. It is a perfect fit for glamorous and sensual people of Dorne with its outstanding mudéjar architecture. It also acquired UNESCO World Heritage status in 1987. It definitely worths a visit.

Very near to these stairs (Calle del Bisbe Cartaña) you will see the Girona Cathedral which appeared in season 6. The scene Tyrells and Lannisters tried to stop Queen Margery's walk of atonement is filmed in this exact location.

This is the place where Daenerys Targaryen got married to Khal Drogo and become Khaleesi. When they were getting married, this 50 meter high natural rock arch , also known as Azure Window, provided the perfect background for the ceremony.
Aside from being famous Game of Thrones location, this location is very famous among scuba divers with its crystal clear waters.

Winterfell scenes were filmed in many different locations but most known are Doune Castle in Scotland where the plot episode was filmed and Castle Ward in Northern Ireland where shots of Winterfell were recorded.

1-)KING'S LANDING (DUBROVNIK, SPLIT - CROATIA AND MALTA )
Most of the scenes of King's Landing are filmed in studio. But when they are filming outside, Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia and Malta are preferred as amazing background for King's Landing scenes.
Some of the scenes of King's Landing were also recorded in Malta such as gate of King's Landing. We have seen this beautiful gate in season one when Catelyn and Ser Rodrik Cassel ride into King's Landing to investigate the attack on Bran. They entered King's landing through 4000 year old Mdina Gate.
